Whenever I visit Maxwell Market, I would always queue for a stall. Not Tian Tian Chicken Rice, but Xing Xing Tapioca Kueh! I thought I blogged about this place already but soon realized it was my illusion. So I quickly grab my phone to take a few shots while queuing for my tapioca and ondeh ondeh.

I didn’t quite like tapioca when I was a kid. My aunt would always make it at home but I just didn’t find it appetizing. But as a I grew older, I began to fall in love with it and whenever my aunt makes it now, I will be a happy girl.

Here, the steamed tapioca cake is absolutely delightful and lovely. It is first steamed and served with grated coconut. It has an amazing texture and not very sticky (the one we make at home is too sticky).

Because I went to buy this after my hot yoga lesson, so I rewarded myself with ondeh ondeh too. These little coconut-coated glutinous rice balls are addictively chewy and stretchy. The best part is definitely the filling inside, which literally explodes in your mouth with a squelch of gula melaka. You tell me, how to stop at one!?!?!?

Each of the above item is selling at 40 cents. If you are going there to grab some ondeh ondeh or tapioca cake, go earlier ah because they normally sell out by lunch.
