You’ve probably stumbled upon Dai Tao Lala Pot —the viral supper spot in JB known for its affordable lala hotpot — on social media. If you’re not up for a trip across the causeway, but are craving for some lala hot pot, you’ll be pleased with Ubi Claypot Lala’s tempting alternative right here in Singapore. Situated near Tai Seng, this newly-opened eatery has swiftly captured the hearts (and taste buds) of locals.

The star of their menu? The Claypot Specialty Broth available in two sizes: a smaller portion for $13.80 or a larger serving at $22.80. Imagine a bubbling pot filled with plump lala (clams) simmered to perfection over a charcoal stove. The broth has a natural sweetness that’s simply irresistible.

Not only do they offer complimentary soup refills, they also provide free additions of Shaoxing wine and fried garlic, allowing diners to tailor their soup to their liking – whether you prefer an extra garlicky kick or a subtle hint of boozy warmth.

You can choose from a wide selection of over 40 hotpot ingredients to complete your claypot lala experience. Classic options such as Shabu Pork ($8.80), Fresh Fish Ball ($6.80), Wawa Cai ($2.80), and Maggi ($0.80) are available, along with more distinctive choices such as Prawn Paste ($10.80), Sotong Flower ($6.80), Empress Clam ($8.80), and Smoked Duck ($8.80).

Despite the wide variety, prices remain affordable, even for premium ingredients like Tiger Prawn ($10.80), Australian Beef Slices ($10.80) and Hokkaido Scallops ($10.80).

One of the highlights is their signature house-made chilli sauce, known for its tangy and spicy flavours, which perfectly complement the seafood without overpowering it.

Located in the Ubi industrial area, opposite ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, Ubi Claypot Lala offers a cozy dining environment. However, due to limited parking and narrow roads, they only accommodate walk-ins. To avoid long waiting times, it’s best to plan your visit accordingly and arrive early to beat the crowd.
