Triple V Coffeehouse – A Rare Gem in Bedok !

Who would have known that restaurants under HDB flats could have potential too? Nestled in the neighbourhood of Bedok North, Triple V Coffeehouse is a modern coffeehouse that offers an array of Western, French and Italian cuisine all in one place. Prices are also more reasonable than you would imagine. 

One of their must-tries (and I repeat: MUST TRY) here is the Confit De Canard ($12.90) – a herb marinated duck confit that has been cooked in its own fat and pan-fried till the skin is super crispy. It was like salty potato chips – oh how I wish I could have a bag of these deliciously addictive duck rinds. This duck confit ticks all the boxes – it’s tender, fatty, moist, and super crispy on the outside. It had such a wonderfully rich texture, and the meat shreds easily with the slightest pressure applied. The sweet tangy cranberry sauce helps to cut through the richness of the duck.

When you are feeling indecisive, it is always great to ask for recommendations. The Hollandaise Salmon ($9.90) is one of them. Roasted salmon fillet is topped with a creamy tart hollandaise sauce, and served with baked potato wedges and mixed salad.

You can tell that the potato wedges are made from real potatoes and roasted in-house. The potatoes would have been better if they were cooked for a longer period of time, as they were still a little hard on the inside.

I hate overcooked fish, but thankfully, it wasn’t the case for the salmon at Triple V CoffeeHouse. While it was neither dry nor stringy, it is not as tender as I would have loved for my salmon to be. Still, this Salmon Hollandaise is better than average. For such a big portion at ten dollars, this is definitely a steal!

Quality French, Italian and Western cuisine never came cheap in Singapore and it is rare to find a shop/restaurant that serves you delicious Western and French cuisine at wallet-friendly prices. They do serve other favourites such as pastas (from $6.90), Chicken Roulade ($9.90), Chicken Ragout ($9.90), Eggs Benedict ($7.90) and Croque-Monsieur ($7.90) too. So, if you are craving for some real affordable Western or French cuisine, head over to Triple V Coffeehouse!
