By the same group behind Kebab Station, the popular Turkish restaurant in the East, The Patron’s Box is a new concept that lies in the heart of the CBD. Despite the more “fast food” and takeaway concept, the team does not cut corners — their pita bread is made at the bread station daily, and the ingredients are fresh. Chef Murat hails from Turkey, bringing authentic Turkish cuisine to our shores.

The ordering process is similar to shops like The Daily Cut — pick up a pencil and fill up the ordering sheet. Each box starts at $11.90, and they have traditional Turkish desserts like Baklava ($3) and Sultac Pudding ($4) was well.

As they’re known for their homemade pita, I had to have one of their pita burgers. The burger was generously stuffed, and I especially liked the creamy and fragrant hummus sauce which paired nicely with the greens and protein in the burger.

An integral part of Turkish cuisine, the Kebab roll consisted of a lavash wrap, and generous stuffing. I preferred the sauteed beef cubes to the kebab chicken though, as the chicken was on the drier side.

I was overall very pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the large portions here. If I had to pick one, I’d say go for the homemade pita bread, and if you’re lucky, you can catch the chefs making them on the spot.

For dessert, I was excited to try their Sutlac Pudding, but it was sadly not available on my visit. Opting for the baklava instead, I was greeted with a cute mini box, with a bite-sized baklava nestled within. I don’t really have a sweet tooth, so thankfully, theirs was not achingly sweet as compared to other baklavas I’ve tried,

Delicious and perfect for a grab-and-go, Patron’s Box might just be your new favourite lunch fix!
