The Benjamins – Gigantic Beef Bowls & Lava Cheese Burger
May 13, 2017
The Benjamins, previously known as Benjamin Browns, soared to fame due to their insta-worthy over the top milkshakes. These massive milky “towers” comes with generous toppings and honestly, they appear diabetes-inducing.
Fast forward to now, The Benjamins are once again taking over Instagram by storm by introducing huge bowls of MooDon, SeaDon and OinkDon. They even launched a Molten Lava Cheese Burger for fans of cheese. We decided to drop by to see how their crazy creations fare.
MooDon ($29) simply features garlic fried rice served with egg omelette and a massive 350g of beef stacked on top. You don’t get to choose the doneness of your beef here as the beef is served well done – a tad too well done for our liking unforuntely. The meat is tough, and there is no consistency as some portions are a tad too raw and under-seasoned. The garlic fried rice, on the other hand, is decent. Seafood lovers can go for SeaDon ($35) while those who like pork can try OinkDon ($29).
On the other hand, Molten Lava Cheese Burger ($25) allows you to pick your choice of beef, fried chicken or soft-shell crab to be served with ciabatta buns. As you split the ciabatta buns apart, a small amount of nacho cheese flows out and coats the fried chicken perfectly. We liked it that the cheese isn’t too thick nor overwhelming.
It’s time for The Benjamins’ O.T.T shakes to take a step back as the limelight is now on the newly launched Cerealsly Crunchy Fairy Pebbles Shake ($16). Nope, we didn’t make any spelling mistake here. Featuring whipped cream mixed with fruity pebbles, this beautiful drink is topped with a few of our childhood favourites like gem biscuits, grape-flavoured cotton candy, and biscuit piring wafer. It will certainly end your meal on a sweet note.
