TAP – 20 Different Craft Beers at just $10 a Pint!
September 23, 2018
Beer is consumed in amazing volumes on a daily basis, all over the world. The well-loved beverage is viewed as a celebratory drink, a much-needed lifesaver after a long day of work, or even a mid-day pick-me-up. In recent years, craft beers have received a ton of attention. Carefully crafted by smaller breweries, craft beers are more consistent in taste, as more attention is paid to the details and perfection of every batch of brew. Do you love craft beers? If you do, I’m sure you’ve been to TAP. If you haven’t, you really should finish reading this article to find out what they have in store for you!
Located at Robertson Quay, TAP is warm and welcoming. There are plenty of seats, so bring the troops!
The craft beers go for $10 a pint, which is one of the cheapest in Singapore. What’s even more amazing is that there are 20 different rotating taps choose from! From IPA to stout, TAP has something for everyone! However, once a particular beer runs out, it may take months to return. TAP keeps things fresh by constantly bringing in new and different beers. Don’t be sad if your favourite tap has run dry, you can always try the newest flavor (which I believe will be as good), or leave your number with the friendly staff and they will get in touch once YOUR beer is back!
$10 PER PINT!
I managed to try two of the bestsellers — Coronado Guava Islander IPA (USA), and Deschutes Black Raspberry Sour Ale (US). The IPA was surprisingly smooth, and bursting with tropical goodness. This beer is exclusively available at Tap Craft Beer! If this is your first time trying a craft beer, I’ll recommend the ale(a seasonal product). It is almost like a mixture of beer and ribena! The refreshing tartness masks the bitter aftertaste that usually accompanies a sip of beer. I found it especially addictive, and finished my pint in no time. Another must-try is the Beer Farm Apple Cider (AU). The cider is extremely well balanced, and is neither too sweet, nor too dry — absolutely delicious!
TAP might be known for craft beers, but they should be equally known for delicious dishes which go exceptionally well with their wide selection of beer.
Tossed in a Thai-style sauce that consists of cilantro and chilli sauce, the Thai Glaze Chicken Wings ($12) is not to be missed. Armed with a crisp, the juicy wings are so yummy that you’ll find yourself considering to order a second portion even before you finish the first.
If you’re up for something even spicier, go for the Mapo Pork Ribs ($14). Slow-cooked pork ribs slathered with a house-made spicy mapo sauce? I’m sold.
TAP offers 5 unique flavours of meatballs. I tried the Teriyaki Chicken-style meatballs which were coated with teriyaki sauce, fried garlic, cilantro and Japanese seasoning. I love my meatballs in tomato sauce, but this was a way tastier version!
I also thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ Pulled Beef Quesadillas ($14) that was served with an interesting beer cheese sauce. Quesadillas are always a good idea. What’s not to love about tender pulled beef and melted mozzarella cheese? The quesadillas were an absolute joy to tuck into.
If you find the Robertson Quay outlet a tad out of the way, you can visit their first outlet at Capitol Piazza. A new outlet will be opening soon at 1 Raffles Link! TAP will be debuting their Open Face Sandwiches at the new outlet. 10 different creations await!
Great beer, awesome food, chill vibes, TAP is set to be the next big thing in One Raffles Link. They have non-alcoholic beverages, and also wines and spirits, to cater to everyone.
In case you’re intimidated by the sheer amount of beer on offer, and have difficulty making up your mind, you can refer to the guide and very helpful menu that will aid in your decision-making.
