Skirt & Dirt – Cheese Skirt Burger in Tiong Bahru Market!
May 23, 2022
Opened by ex-One Faber Group chef Fabian Tan, Skirt & Dirt serves up affordable cheeseburgers in Tiong Bahru Market.
When the chef of 16 years ventured out to start his own business, he decided to adopt the idea of Cheese Skirt Burgers after coming across it online.
I had my Cheese Skirt Burger with a side of Cajun Fries ($9.50). A bed of shredded cheddar cheese was placed on the grill. The cheese melted and crisped up, before a beef patty was laid on top of it.
The beef patty, topped with more shredded cheese, was quite the tasty combination. The patty, however, was a little too well done for my liking, and was not as juicy as I would have liked it to be.
Currently, their weekday lunch promotion, available till 2pm, offers one side, with the purchase of any burger, for just $1.50. Rather than the typical set with 2 sides at an additional $3.
Besides their signature Cheese Skirt Burger, I also had their Big Dad Wolf’s Pork Burger ($7). This pork burger had additional slices of bacon which made for a hearty meal. Unfortunately, the pork was quite a letdown as it was really dry. The sauce slathered on the patty did make it slightly better.
I opted for the set with 2 sides ($3) : Garden Salad and Soup of the Day. The Cauliflower Soup was creamy, yet not too jelak. The free-flow croutons undeniably added a nice touch too.
The side of salad was also a refreshing break from the sinful burgers.
Skirt & Dirt offers more than just these items. They also have Fish and Chicken burgers, as well as Dirt Fries ($5) on their menu.
If you’re looking for a cooler, cheaper alternative to your typical Cafe cheeseburger in Tiong Bahru, Skirt & Dirt is the place to be! They also have another outlet in Bukit Timah that’s closed on Tuesdays.
