Prince Noodles – Handmade Noodles in Lavender!
May 20, 2022
I’m a sucker for any sort of handmade noodles, so Prince Noodles was right up my alley. A small shop in the Lavender / Bendemeer area, Prince Noodles serves KL-style noodles made fresh upon order.
The menu is relatively simple — 3 different types of noodles in either dry or soup versions. They also serve dumplings as sides.
I liked the Dry Noodles ($5.50/$6.50) with Mee Hoon Kueh. There was just enough of the dark, and slightly sweet sauce to evenly coat the noodles, and a nice fragrance of white pepper. I liked that no single piece of mee hoon kueh was the same shape, but each piece was still pulled skilfully to ensure that they had the right thickness.
The Soup Noodles ($5.50/$6.50) with Ban Mian came with a very clean and light soup, perfect for those looking for something not too heavy.
Each bowl of noodles comes with well-seasoned minced meat and vegetables, but if you would like more liao, there are quite a few add-ons to choose from. I added an Onsen Egg ($1) to both bowls of noodles. Perhaps the consistency of the eggs could have been better – one was nice and runny, while the other was slightly overcooked.
If you’re feeling peckish, grab yourselves some dumplings! I had a Chives and Pork Dumpling ($4.50/10 pieces). While they were not showstopping, I would say their affordability and generous fillings make for a nice side dish to enjoy with the noodles.
Popular with the lunch crowd from around the area, Prince Noodles gets really crowded so head over early!
