Expect an extensive Asian line-up of dishes, including traditional favourites like the Braised Longevity Noodles with Crab Meat Sauce, Braised Pork Trotters with Dried Oysters, Mushroom and Sea Moss, and the Assam Nenas Fish Fillet. I am a sucker for a great carving station, and Lime Restaurant did not disappoint! The Crispy Pork Shank with Apple Compote lives up to its name, with a shatteringly crispy skin surrounding tender juicy meat. Pair it with the apple compote for a sweet twist. It may be tempting to fill up your entire plate with this pork shank, but definitely leave some space for the Roasted Beef Sirloin in Natural Jus! The tender sirloin packs a punch of beefy goodness, amplified by the sauce made from its own cooking juices. For an extravagant reunion dinner you won’t soon forget, come down for the Joyful Reunions buffet ($78 – 108), happening during the eve of, first three and fifteenth day of Chinese New Year! The reunion buffet menu features unique dishes that will only be available during these dates, such as the Longevity Noodles with Chopped Truffles and Salted Egg Yolk. The bold flavours of salted egg yolk and truffle don’t often play well together, but here they marry perfectly to make a light yet extremely flavourful longevity noodle dish. Topped with other lavish ingredients such as abalone, this luxurious modern take on a classic Chinese dish will have you going back for seconds!

Another must-try dish is the Roasted Angus Tomahawk, which towers above the buffet spread. The tomahawk steak is cooked to a perfect medium-rare, rendering the meat rosy pink and tender while still having a crispy outer crust.

Seafood lovers will be spoilt for choice with dishes such as the Baked Oyster with Hollandaise Sauce, Honey Cilantro Lime Baked Salmon and Stir-fried Scallops with Broccoli and Milk Sand! The Baked Oysters were so good that I went back seconds and even thirds! The fresh oysters were topped with a creamy cheese sauce, with a dollop of fish roe adding an extra burst of umami.

The Honey Cilantro Lime Baked Salmon was another favourite. The Salmon Skin remained crispy while the flesh remained fork tender. The lime added a fresh hit of acidity, cutting through the rich fattiness of the salmon. Truly an innovative and masterfully executed salmon dish!

That’s not all! Guests who make reservations for the Joyful Reunions dinner buffet will enjoy a complimentary serving of the sought after Buddha Jumps Over the Wall! Tables of six or more people will receive a complimentary Prosperity Yu Sheng platter. Toss to the New Year with all the traditional Yu Sheng ingredients such as salmon sashimi, crackers, and plum sauce!
