Le Café Vie5 – Authentic Vietnamese Dishes & Coffee in Tai Seng
July 09, 2022
Hidden within the industrial area of Tai Seng, and near shops like Kay Lee Roast Meat and Firestone Bakery, is Le Café Vie5. This cozy cafe serves up authentic Vietnamese fare, and notably, Vietnamese Egg Coffee — a rare find in Singapore!
I am not a big fan of coffee, but the Vietnamese Egg Coffee ($6.50) is an exception. I really enjoyed Le Café Vie5’s version. It tasted very similar to the creamy drink I had back in Hanoi. Each cuppa is made individually, and the egg cream whisked to the perfect consistency. I liked how it was not too sweet, and the eggy flavours were light.
The hearty Sizzling Beef with Loaf ($18.90) was a tad too oily for me, but the beef and pâté were tasty! I liked the texture of the warm baguette(it was not too dense), but I found it a pity that my egg did not come with a runny yolk, or I could have dipped my baguette into some glorious yolk which is always a good idea!
An integral part of Vietnamese cuisine, the Beef Noodle Soup ($12), consisted of a clean and light broth, and a rather generous amount of beef slices. My only gripe was that the cook of the beef was rather uneven — there were some pieces that were on the dry side.
If you’re in the area or craving some authentic Vietnamese food, head down to Le Cafe Vie5! The Vietnamese Egg Coffee is a must-order.
