Italiano Paradiso at Marriott Café, Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel

I have visited Marriott Cafe for a few times. Even though it is an international buffet spread, my favourite part of the buffet is the Italian section with a good range of stews and pastas. When I knew that the restaurant is having Italian Paradiso promotion, I agreed quickly to their food tasting invitation.

From now till 30 April 2016, Marriott Cafe is offering an odyssey of Italian specialties cooked to perfection by their Italian Chefs Christian Frigo and Daniele Trivero. Combining Italian culinary traditions with the finest ingredients, enjoy the best of Italy together with a diverse selection of international crowd pleasers like salads, soups, fresh seafood on ice, succulent roasts, local delights and mouthwatering desserts.

One of my favourites is the Agnello All Aceto Balsamico. The lamb cubes that are marinated in balsamic vinegar overnight are succulent and slightly sweet. Maiale al Latte featur is not the prettiest dish in the world, but that’s all forgiven as soon as you taste it. The lactic acid in the milk helps break down the meat, giving way to tender pork cubes.

Seppie E Piselli is a traditional Italian main course: the cuttlefish are stewed with green peas and squid ink, a cooking method that brings out the flavor of all the ingredients. For more adventurous diners, don’t give the Sauteed Veal Tongue with Green Salsa a miss. I like the Oxtalil Vaccinara Style most. Oxtails are a fatty cut of meat. A lengthy braise with vegetables yields a rich and delicious sauce. Other Italian highlights not to missed include Gnocchi Con Salsa Ai Peperoni E Caprino. Each piece is soft, delicious and surprisingly light, especially when served with bell pepper and goat cheese.
