Ichiban – Scrumptious YuSheng With Fruits and Salmon Sashimi!
January 03, 2020
It’s Chinese New Year again! Which means it’s time to ready your chopsticks to Lo some Hei!
Ichiban Boshi and Ichiban Sushi are synonymous with premium yet casual Japanese dining in Singapore. From 7 January 2020 to 8 February 2020, Ichiban YuSheng will be available for purchase! Their signature Salmon Sashimi YuSheng is known to be exceptionally popular at family reunions and corporate celebrations as everyone gets together to usher in a year of abundance (年年有餘)!
Their 6 Treasures Fruits YuSheng was so incredibly well received at the start of 2019 that it got featured on CNA and News 8! As such, by popular demand, they decided to bring it back this year!
The 6 Treasures Fruits YuSheng ($56.80, good for 8-10 pax) features an exciting array of fresh fruits which includes Pomelo (柚子), Pear (雪梨), Guava (番石榴), Mango (芒果), Pineapple (鳳梨), and Jackfruit (菠蘿蜜). Vibrant and colourful, this online-exclusive, take-away YuSheng is great for vegetarians and those who are more health conscious.
The jackfruit stands out in particular as it is the strongest tasting fruit among the six. If you’re a fan of jackfruit, you’re really going to love this version of YuSheng. I sure know I do.
Alternatively, you can opt for the all-time favourite — Salmon Sashimi YuSheng! Ichiban Boshi and Ichiban Sushi use only the freshest Norwegian salmon, and arrange the slices into beautiful sashimi roses. The Salmon Sashimi YuSheng is available in two sizes for take-away and dine-in: Auspicious YuSheng for 8-10 pax (24 pieces of salmon sashimi, $60.90) and Bountiful YuSheng for 4-6 pax (18 pieces of salmon sashimi, $49.80). There’s also a dine-in option, Celebration YuSheng for 2-3 pax (12 pieces of salmon sashimi, $36.80).
Each YuSheng comes with a house-made yuzu sauce, which is made with ingredients from Japan! The sauce is uniquely sweet and sour, completed with a yuzu fragrance. When coated in the sauce, the ingredients are armed with citrus notes. Personally, I think it beats the usual plum sauce.
You know the feeling when you have to place all the ingredients in the Lo Hei, but you don’t know which phrase to say for each ingredient while doing so? Well, no sweat. Each YuSheng set comes with a small toss-to-prosperity instruction guide, which you can refer to if you’re unsure of what to say. Or, if you’ve simply run out of auspicious sayings during the tossing itself, you can take a quick gander at the guide for some inspiration.
So, if you’re looking for a great platter of YuSheng, you can get one at any Ichiban Boshi or Ichiban Sushi restaurant outlets!
The 6 Treasures Fruits YuSheng, Auspicious YuSheng, and Bountiful YuSheng are available for pre-order online at https://ichiban.oddle.me from 2 January 2020 to 6 February 2020. You have to order at least 2 days in advance. Then, all you have to do is pick your take-way YuSheng up at any of the 23 Ichiban Boshi and Ichiban Sushi restaurants island-wide. You will also receive FREE limited edition 2020 Red Packets with every YuSheng ordered (while stocks last)!
Getting your Chinese New Year’s YuSheng has never been easier! You can also be assured that it is as delectable as it is fresh. We got the 6 Treasures Fruits YuSheng and the Auspicious YuSheng for the office, and let me tell you, it was tough deciding which was our favourite out of the two!
