Good Pig Trotter Fried Beehoon – Addictive Beehoon That’s Worth the Early Trip into the CBD!

It’s an early morning and you’re an early-bird CBD worker searching around for a good yet affordable breakfast to fuel up for the day. There are indeed quite a number of hidden gems around and one of them is located within The Arcade, a little mall located right outside Raffles Place MRT. Just follow the crowd and it’ll take you right to Good Pig Trotter Fried Beehoon. 

The stall has quite a long history, having first started up in The Arcade in 1997 as 108 Eating House. It was later rebranded as Good Old Taste and finally, Good Pig Trotter Fried Beehoon. While their delicious servings of beehoon are the ones that draw the crowds in, they also sell chicken rice, fishball noodles, laksa and mee pok as well. 

I would definitely recommend heading down early enough as their pig trotter beehoon is only available till 10.30am. Thankfully, when we got there, there were a few packets of beehoon that have been packaged up along with a few ingredients left. My order came with a slice of luncheon meat and fried fish fillet, totalling up to $5. 

Looks can be deceiving, so don’t be fooled by the light colours of the beehoon here. The entire dish emitted an amazing aroma that will instantly have you salivating. The noods were packed with an intense amount of flavour from the pig trotters they were cooked with and were not at all dry. Savoury and full of umami, the beehoon on its own was tasty enough. 

Oh, but you should 100% mix the side of chilli in. It packs a punch but doesn’t mask the taste of the beehoon, and it was every bit as addictive as the noods and perfectly complemented them. 

The fried fish fillet was on the thin side and a little dry but a few hours have passed since they first opened so that could explain it. Nevertheless, it was still crispy. The thick slice of luncheon meat also more than made up for a sinful protein intake! 

Good Pig Trotter Fried Beehoon is definitely an excellent find in the bustling CBD, and their delicious pig trotter beehoon is definitely worth sparing an hour or two in the morning for!
