Erikos – A Bedok Gem Serving Delicious Braised Beef Shin
January 04, 2024
Seeing a friend’s photo of Erikos’ irresistible braised beef shin, I knew I had to try it.
The menu at Erikos offered a respectable variety of Western dishes. From classics like Fish and Chips, Spaghetti Carbonara, to more refreshing choices like Grilled Bulgogi Chicken with Kimchi Slaw, there was something for everyone.
After hours of slow cooking, the Signature Braised Beef Shin ($15.80) becomes incredibly tender and succulent. It practically falls apart with the touch of a fork, making it luxurious and comforting. The braising sauce worked its magic, infusing the beef with an remarkable depth of flavour and the addition of root vegetables lent a hint of natural sweetness that complemented the dish beautifully.
The accompanying creamy mashed potatoes acted as a canvas for the robust flavours of the beef and sauce, providing a perfect contrast to the meat’s tenderness.
Grilled Angus Ribeye Steak with pepper sauce is a true carnivore’s dream. The Grilled Angus Ribeye, perfectly seared to a mouthwatering medium-rare, rested gracefully on the plate, glistening with its own juices. The knife effortlessly glided through the steak, revealing a beautiful pink centre that was succulent and tender. At $16.50, this Grilled Angus Ribeye Steak with Pepper Sauce was an exceptional value, making it an accessible indulgence for steak enthusiasts.
From 6th Jan till 7th Feb, quote MTC99 when you dine-in to enjoy their Grilled Angus Ribeye Steak for only $9.90 (U.P. $16.50)!! 🔥
There’s something truly special about crafting a Homemade Chicken Burger ($10.50), especially when it’s crowned with a luscious slice of melted cheese. The chicken thigh patty, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, resulted in a succulent and tender patty.
The Grilled Pork Chop with Pepper sauce ($9.80) was surprisingly good. A generously-sized, perfectly grilled pork chop sat at the center, accompanied by coleslaw, mashed potatoes and a decadent pool of pepper sauce. This is not a dish I would usually order because pork chop tends to overcook but this Grilled Pork Chop was a textural triumph. The exterior had a satisfying char, giving way to a juicy and tender interior.
My friend opted for the classic Fish and Chips ($10.50). The fish was beautifully fried to a crispy golden perfection, and the accompanying fries were hot and crunchy. The fish was flaky and tender, seasoned just right.
For those craving Western flavours in a casual, local setting, Erikos is a hidden gem worth exploring in Bedok. The dishes were reasonably priced, making it an excellent option for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
