Delhi Lahori’s entrance to the 2024 Michelin Bib Gourmand list definitely piqued my interest. I was excited to try their plethora of Indian-Pakistani dishes which include charcoal-baked Naans, and aromatic curries. I was also surprised to learn that every item on their menu costs less than $10!

Admittedly, my knowledge Indian-Pakistani food is quite limited, having not tried it much. However, I learnt from the stall owners that Indian and Pakistani cuisine are essentially the same. As both countries share a common border, cross-border cultural influences on their cuisine are largely similar, if not the same. Delhi Lahori’s cooking style remains quite traditional — their Naans and Kebabs are cooked in a charcoal tandoor oven.

The Butter Chicken Naan set ($6) is one of the bestsellers! It comes with two huge charcoal-baked naans and a bowl of butter chicken, which will definitely fill you right up. You can swap the Plain Naan for Cheese Naan, at just $2! I found the Cheese Naan, with patches of savoury, melty cheese distributed quite evenly across, quite addictive. Moreover, the creamy succulent Butter Chicken, which was a delight on its own, paired excellently with the fragrant naan — creating the perfect combination!

If you’re looking for something meatier, go for the Seekh Kebab ($7). It is well seasoned with a mix of spices and bursting with juices. Dip it in the accompanying green chilli sauce for a citrusy and spicy kick.
