Cafe FOUND – Instagrammable Cafe Now has Lunch & Dinner Menu
June 06, 2022
When I first made my visit to this cafe located within The Editor’s Market’s flagship store, it only served pastries and desserts. Since mid-May, the cafe has expanded their lunch and dinner menu which promise rustic and elegant flavours. More seats are available to host large groups of customers as well.
To start off, I had the Cauliflower Ajo Blanco ($12). While at first unassuming, the dish was addictive and packed with flavour. The torched cauliflower went well with the creamy and garlicky Ajo Blanco. The fried curry leaves also added a fragrant touch. Some pomegranate seeds were present beneath the cauliflowers ; they added a nice crunch, but was a tad lacking in portion.
Another one of their crowd favourites, the Spatchcock Chicken ($22) was a slight disappointment. My chicken had some tender pieces,, but some parts were dry. On top of that, there was a disproportionate bone to meat ratio that left me picking out bones half the time. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. I did, however, quite enjoy the charred banana shallots.
We rounded the meal off on a good note with the White Chocolate Madeleines ($8). Most of the pastries from FOUND are sourced from other bakeries, but these were made in-house. The madeleines came in a larger size than found commonly, and the white chocolate coating lent a nice textural contrast from the soft madeleines.
Overall, there were some hits, but also misses. They do have an extensive menu with seafood and handmade pasta options so I might be back for a second shot.
