For this year’s Mid-Autumn festival, Baker’s Brew has gone above and beyond, designing their special sets inspired by the iconic movie, Crazy, Rich Asians. I’ve never had custard mooncakes before, so I was excited to give it a try! Just a bite was all it took for me to give the custard mooncakes my stamp of approval. The pastry was buttery and fragrant, and I especially loved the Ondeh Custard one!

If you thought the packaging for the baked version looked fancy enough, the one for the snowskin mooncakes is going to blow you away. The exquisite snowskin creations are housed in the most elegant looking chest, and I could almost mistake this for a jewellery box (no joke). Think smooth, white PVC leather, an embossed logo on the top, and a golden metal clasp. This set is just gorgeous and makes for a perfect gift to impress anybody (you get two gifts in one — delicious snacks and a jewellery box!)

The mooncakes, which are the products of perfect marriages between different tea infusions and fruit blends, come in four amazing flavours — Yuzu Pear Blossom, Lychee Rose, Mango Osmanthus, Lady Hannah Blackcurrent,. My favourite was definitely the Lychee Rose and Yuzu Pear Blossom! Sweet and enchanting floral flavours, brilliant and lovely fruity hints, what’s not to love?

Take a small bite of the Lychee Rose and take in the wonderful notes of rose which will hit your senses first. Beautifully complemented by a fragrant jasmine and green tea filling, the Lychee Rose mooncake is THE mooncake for me. If you’re a fan of citrusy creations, you’ll definitely love the refreshing burst of yuzu in the Yuzu Pear Blossom!
