Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee – A Bak Chor Mee Concept For Pork Lovers
May 17, 2024
Bak Chor Mee is a classic hawker dish that Singaporeans love very much. As it’s such a classic dish, we all know how it’s supposed to look and taste. Hence, it’s hard to make a bowl of BCM stand out. However, Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee’s rendition is here to do just that, as they offer different styles of pork in one bowl.
Raymond, who was behind Reimondo Seafood Congee and Sure Come Back Wanton Mee, is the guy behind this new concept. After a hiatus from the FnB industry, Raymond is back in the food scene.
The menu only has one main dish, which is Bak Chor Mee. You can get it in 3 different sizes — Small ($3.50), Standard ($5.50) and Song Song ($8.50). Of course, with each size comes different proportions of ingredients.
The Standard bowl that I had came with some interesting ingredients that you don’t usually see in Bak Chor Mee. There are pieces of shabu pork, smoked pork belly, Fuzhou style pork balls and crispy Ngoh Hiang.
The pork belly was reminiscent of the Cha Shu I usually get in ramen, which is a delight to have. Also, the crispy Ngoh Hiang pieces felt like bits of gold nuggets, giving a crisp and salty flavour. The firm and springy noodles, and tasty sauce, together with all the ingredients, make this a satisfying bowl.
If you are feeling peckish, add on a side of their Fried Chicken Wings ($1.60/piece). The crisp wings were nicely marinated, and juicy.
If you are craving a good bowl of Bak Chor Mee, Bak Bak Bak Chor Mee’s rendition will satisfy that and more. I believe that fans of pork will enjoy this zhng-ed up version of a classic favourite.
