848 Braised Duck: Yishun’s Top Duck Rice Spot – 4.3 Stars on Google!
January 02, 2024
You certainly won’t miss 848 Braised Duck as you stroll through the ever-bustling Khatib neighborhood. Tucked away in this lively enclave, the coffeeshop stall serves an affordable and delectable plate of Braised Duck Rice. The boss here used to work at a big-shot braised duck chain before setting up this stall.
Priced at just $3.50, the Braised Duck Rice is a wallet-friendly delight. The dish features fragrant yam rice, succulent duck meat, and crisp cucumber, all generously drizzled with their signature braised sauce. Accompanying the meal is a bowl of soup with a mild herbal taste.
If variety is what you seek, go for the kway teow at 848 Braised Duck which is a crowd favorite. The smooth kway teow and delightfully crunchy bean sprouts went well with the flavourful sauce which elevated the dish to new heights. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, add in some chilli and you’re all set.
848 Braised Duck also serves kway chap! The expertly-deboned slices of braised duck were tender, moist, meaty, and complemented perfectly by a generous dose of their savoury chili sauce.
Be prepared for a queue when you visit 848 Braised Duck, but it is worth the wait!
Join us in this episode of Chiak Local, where singer-songwriter Hong Junyang takes us to Yishun, a neighborhood close to his heart. Our food journey begins with a visit to 618 Sim Carrot Cake at Yishun, where we indulge in a plate of delicious white carrot cake with prawns, a mutual favorite of ours. We also had 848 Braised Duck and 925 Yishun Laksa.
