Previously located at 46 Kim Yam Road, and known for their well-stuffed sandos, 46 Mittsu has settled into a quaint space in Everton Park. You can expect to find familiar signature combinations that were sold at their previous store, as well as a few new creations that are just as equally enticing!

Based on the size of their store, I’d encourage doing takeaways. They do have a few seats inside, as well as camping-like folding chairs right outside the store if you wish to enjoy your sandwiches asap.

Amongst their spread of sando options, new additions to the menu include a Korean-inspired Firebird ($15) comprising gochujang fried chicken, braised pork-centric Piggyback ($15) and Catfish ($18) that comes stuffed with cubes of fresh tuna, papaya salad and fried wanton skin. There are also vegetarian-friendly options like Rojak Sando ($15) and Easy Cheesy ($14).

You can also enjoy a series of beverages with your sandwiches! Get your caffeine fix with a Black ($4 for hot, $4.50 for iced) or White ($5 for hot, $5.50 for iced) coffee brewed with beans roasted by the same folks behind Double Up Coffee, or check out their kombucha, sparkling H20 and juices from Gorilla Press.

An all-time favourite, the B.E.C ($14) aka Bacon, Egg, Cheese was a classically simple culmination of quality ingredients that were anything but simple. This sando was the epitome of thicc, stuffed to the brim with thick-cut pieces of homemade, sous-vide bacon, scrambled eggs, American cheddar that gives you a mouth-watering cheese pull, and habanero gribiche between two hunks of ciabatta bread.

You can also “add-on” to your sandwich, so I opted to include hashbrown ($2). Talk about creating the ultimate breakfast sando!

The hint of smokiness from the savoury bacon melded beautifully with the slightly sharp tanginess of the habanero gribiche. The creamy and thick scrambled eggs and hashbrown smoothed the flavours over and ensured they didn’t overwhelm. I also liked the slight crunch of the freshly baked, dense ciabatta bread.

I also decided to give one of their newer sandos, Holy Cow ($18), a go. The sandwich came packed with thick slices of beef, garlic butter, chimichurri, cheddar cheese, a layer of greens and a sunny egg. The meat was just a tad too tough for my liking, but still relatively easy to bite into. Expect a strong wave of seasoning in this sando!

Apart from that, the other flavour I mostly tasted came from the greens, so it might not be an ideal choice for folks who aren’t a fan of veggies. I would have also preferred the garlic butter and chimichurri elements to stand out more.

46 Mittsu is definitely a decent sando joint to check out. Go for the B.E.C that’s clearly a signature for a reason!
